Transparency is a core value at HogaToga. This page explains our affiliate relationships, how they work, and how we disclose them so you always know when a link may result in us earning a commission.
1. What Is an Affiliate Link?
An affiliate link is a specially coded hyperlink that allows a merchant or service provider to identify that a visitor came from HogaToga. If you click such a link and then make a qualifying purchase or sign up for a service within a specified window, HogaToga may receive a commission from that merchant. The commission comes from the merchant’s side — you pay exactly the same price you would have paid by going directly to the retailer. Your purchase price is never inflated because of an affiliate link.
2. Programmes We Participate In
HogaToga participates in a number of affiliate advertising programmes. These currently include, but may not be limited to:
- Amazon Associates — HogaToga is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising programme designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com and its affiliated international storefronts (amazon.co.uk, amazon.de, amazon.ca, etc.).
- Other technology and software affiliate programmes — We may also participate in programmes run by technology retailers, SaaS companies, VPN providers, hosting services, and other relevant vendors. We will update this list as our affiliate relationships change.
The presence of any brand name or product link on HogaToga does not necessarily mean we have an active affiliate relationship with that brand. When a link is an affiliate link, it will be disclosed as described below.
3. How We Disclose Affiliate Links
In accordance with FTC guidelines and our commitment to transparency, affiliate links on HogaToga are disclosed in the following ways:
- Article-level disclosure: Any article that contains one or more affiliate links includes a clear disclosure notice near the top of the page. This notice states that the article may contain affiliate links and that HogaToga may earn a commission if you make a purchase.
- This Affiliate Disclosure page: All visitors can access this page at any time via the footer of every page on the Site.
- Hover title attributes: Where technically feasible, affiliate links may include a title attribute indicating the affiliate nature of the link.
4. Affiliate Links Do Not Influence Editorial Decisions
The existence of an affiliate relationship with a merchant has no bearing on whether we cover a product, how we cover it, or what conclusion we reach. We do not accept payment from merchants in exchange for positive reviews or higher ratings. Our editorial team evaluates products and services on their merits — features, performance, value for money, and user experience — in order to give you honest, useful information.
We may choose not to include an affiliate link, or not to review a product at all, even when an affiliate programme is available, if we do not believe the product is relevant or valuable to our readers.
5. Sponsored Content
Occasionally, HogaToga may work with brands on sponsored content — articles or features for which we receive direct compensation. Sponsored content is always clearly labelled with a prominent “Sponsored” or “Paid Partnership” notice. Sponsored arrangements are entirely separate from affiliate programmes. Our editorial conclusions in sponsored content remain our own, and we do not publish sponsored content that we believe would mislead our readers.
6. FTC Compliance
This disclosure is provided in compliance with the United States Federal Trade Commission’s “Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising” (16 CFR Part 255), which requires that material connections between an endorser and the subject of an endorsement be clearly disclosed. Similar disclosure requirements exist under regulations in the UK, EU, Canada, Australia, and other jurisdictions, and we intend this disclosure to satisfy those requirements as well.
7. No Extra Cost to You
We want to be absolutely clear: using an affiliate link costs you nothing extra. In some cases, links may point to exclusive deals or discounts. If you prefer not to use an affiliate link, you are welcome to search for the product directly on the retailer’s website.
