How HogaToga Creates and Publishes Content
This page describes the editorial standards that govern every article, review, tutorial, and news piece published on HogaToga. These are not aspirations — they are the working rules our team follows every day. If you believe we have fallen short of them, please contact us at editorial@hogatoga.com.co.
Human-Written and Human-Edited
Every piece of published prose on HogaToga is written by a named human author and reviewed by a human editor before it goes live. This is non-negotiable. We believe that credible technology journalism requires people with genuine experience and accountability, not automated text generation. The byline on an article is the person who wrote it and who stands behind its claims.
Use of AI Tools
We use software tools throughout our work — including AI-assisted tools for research tasks such as summarising long specification documents, checking for relevant sources, or scanning patch notes. That use is assistive only. No AI system generates the prose, the analysis, the verdict, or the recommendations that appear in a published article. A human writer reads the research, forms the judgement, and writes the words. A human editor checks both. The named author on the byline is the accountable person for the content.
Sourcing and Attribution
Claims in HogaToga articles are grounded in verifiable sources: official developer documentation, manufacturer spec sheets, platform announcements, peer-reviewed research where relevant, or our own direct testing. When we cite a source, we link to it where possible so readers can check it themselves. We do not treat press releases, marketing copy, or unverified social media posts as primary sources. Where information comes from a single source that we cannot independently verify, we say so in the text.
Independence from Advertisers
HogaToga accepts advertising and participates in affiliate programmes. Neither relationship influences our editorial decisions. Advertisers do not receive advance copy, editorial input, or any form of preferential coverage. Our reviews are conducted independently of commercial relationships. A company that advertises on HogaToga is not guaranteed a positive review — and has never been offered one. For more detail on how commercial relationships are structured, see our Ethics Policy.
How Reviews Work
App and game reviews are based on direct use of the product by the reviewer. Hardware reviews involve hands-on testing. We describe our testing conditions in each review — the device used, the version tested, the duration of testing — so readers can judge how applicable our findings are to their own situation. Star ratings, scores, or recommendation verdicts reflect the reviewer’s honest assessment. They are not adjusted for commercial relationships, developer relationships, or prior coverage.
Updates and Corrections
Technology moves quickly and articles need to stay accurate. When new information materially changes a conclusion — a significant software update, a price change, a security disclosure — we update the article and note the update date and nature at the top or bottom of the piece. This is different from a correction. A correction is issued when published content was factually wrong. Corrections are handled under our Corrections Policy and follow the process described there. We do not silently rewrite articles to remove errors without acknowledgement.
The No-Scam-Content Rule
HogaToga will not publish content that promotes scams targeting readers. This covers a specific and recurring category of tech content: articles about free in-game currency generators, guaranteed "trick" methods for earning premium resources, cracked or modded APKs distributed outside official stores, or any service that asks readers for account credentials in exchange for in-game benefits. These are scams. We have covered them as such in warning articles, and we will not promote them under any framing. This rule applies to all content including sponsored content, guest posts, and how-to guides. It is not negotiable.
Guest Contributions and Sponsored Content
HogaToga occasionally publishes guest contributions and clearly-labelled sponsored content. Guest authors are vetted before publication. Sponsored content is labelled as such at the top of the piece and does not appear alongside editorial content without clear visual and textual distinction. Sponsored content is subject to the same factual accuracy requirements as editorial content and must comply with our no-scam rule.
Related Policies
This policy should be read alongside our Ethics Policy, Fact-Checking Policy, and Corrections Policy. Together, these documents describe the full framework governing how HogaToga reports, edits, and stands behind its content.
